Mitchell Robinson's Candid Admission on Skipping the Knicks' Championship Ceremony Sparks NBA Debate Mitchell Robinson recently captured national headlines by openly admitting that he chose to skip the New York Knicks' championship ring and banner-raising ceremony, laying bare the complicated emotional aftermath of his departure from the franchise. Having played a vital role off the bench during the Knicks' historic 2026 NBA title run, Robinson's transition to the Boston Celtics this past offseason has quickly become one of the most compelling storylines in professional basketball. Event Background & Why It's Trending The narrative surrounding Robinson reached a boiling point during the opening week of the 2026-27 NBA season. BasketNews.com + 1 When the Knicks tipped off their season by celebrating their championship milestone, Robinson admitted to reporters that he intentionally avoided watching the ceremony. He noted that he was still processing the competitive emotional weight of the past year and preferred to focus entirely on his new chapter in Boston rather than watch his former teammates celebrate the hardware he helped secure.
